The Brief

Imperial Hotels is the largest and oldest privately owned chain of hotels based in Central London. On average it takes 4,000 bookings a day and makes £4-5 million on the internet alone. Imperial Hotels required a company to support a system that was slowly failing until it had a chance to replace it with a fully working solution.

 

The Solution

Imperial Hotels had a system built by a third-party company several years ago. It had lost contact with this firm and urgently needed a partner to take over and support the system.

Space Galleon reviewed the system thoroughly and provided recommendations on how to support, patch or replace parts of the system to ensure it could stay online while a replacement system was provided. The replacement system had to be able to take bookings and work with the bespoke booking and front office system that was already in place within all eight hotels.

The website needed to be translated into various different languages, but the company did not have access to the relevant translators to help update the site. We provided a unique solution that allowed the content management system to access Google Translate, and have the site translated on the fly and displayed within the content management system as well as the website. The translated copy is still available to the client for further editing.

Space Galleon then spent time tidying all of the digital assets to ensure all the domain names were under one account. This ensured the client had to call only one company for any situation that was related or linked to the website.
